Penzance's famous Jubilee Pool re-opened in May 2016 after being closed for two summers. It was severely damaged after storms in January and February 2014 but after a £3 million refurbishment it is open again and welcoming visitors. On July 18th the pool has its official civic re-opening ceremony.

Penzance's winter solstice festival takes place every year on the 21st December.

Montol's 6pm procession on Causewayhead, Penzance.

The procession makes it's way to the Princess May Recreation Ground where the Montol fire is lit.

Between Penzance and Marazion the Cornwall Coast Path is level making it ideal for a lovely coastal stroll without having to over exert yourself.

The path has wonderful views over Mount's Bay, Long Rock Beach and Marazion with St Michael's Mount off the coast.

The western end of Long Rock Beach between Penzance and the level crossing near Long Rock car park is dog friendly all year round.

From the level crossing to Marazion dogs are only allowed during the Winter (1st October to 30th April). From 1st May to 30th September dogs are only allowed before 8am and after 7pm.

This intriguing piece of art can be viewed from the car park and cafe at Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens. This view is from the pilgrim route known as St Michael's Way.

St Michael's Mount lies at the heart of beautiful Mount's Bay.
Seen from Mousehole, Penzance, Perranuthnoe and beyond the Mount is accessed from the ancient market town of Marazion by a causeway at low water and by a ferry service at high tide. You can visit the Mount at any time when the causeway is available.

The castle and gardens have opening times and an admission charge but you can visit the harbour area free of charge and dogs are welcome in the harbour area, where there are shops, cafes and places to sit to enjoy the views.
