JollyRoger on Tour
Date: 1 Nov
to 30 May
/ Time: Please see below
Hailing from the pirate haven of Penzance, this fun, young, pirate-folk band have hung up their cutlasses, exchanged their galleon for a land ship (named Hubert Cumberdale) and taken to a life of music. Formed in 2019, JollyRoger are already taking the south-west by storm and gigging port, bow and starboard.
14th One Year Party - limited tickets available
12 Bread St, TR18 2EQ Penzance, Cornwall
Party like pirate with JollyRoger as they celebrate their first year together in foot-stomping fashion.
Kicking off the night will be the talented Draper (local acoustic guitarist & singer), followed by a set from JollyRoger & then a jukebox disco where you can pick what songs are played! There will be a pirate fancy dress competition and some fantastic prizes too.
It's the place to take your date on Valentines day, meet a valentine, or party as a single pirate!
Inspired and influenced by the vocals of 'The Pogues' crossed with 'Fisherman's Friends', the energy of the 'Dropkick Murphys' and the comedy of 'Tenacious D', it's hard to categorise JollyRoger! They take pride in their performances, demand audience immersion and are ‘bound to get your toes tapping’.
‘If you don’t like sea shanties, songs about drinking rum and shouting used as backing vocals then this probably isn’t for you but if you do have a sense of fun then jump on in, the water’s lovely’ -Listen with Monger - Reviewing EP ‘Everyday Pirate’-
Hailing from the pirate haven of Penzance, this fun, upbeat, pirate-folk band have hung up their cutlasses, exchanged their galleon for a land ship (named Hubert Cumberdale) and taken to a life of music.
‘Great live band, high energy, fun & professional - if you’re looking for a band that will get the crowd jumping, here they are!!’ -West Kernow Sounds - Podcast with Craig-
Formed recently in 2019, JollyRoger are already taking the south-west by storm and gigging port, bow and starboard. Soon getting booked for the likes of Boardmasters Festival and performing on BBC RADIO CORNWALL and TCR RADIO.
JollyRoger comprises of brother & sister, Jae Dennis (guitar/ ukelele/ harmonica) & Samantha Hannah (mandolin/guitar) plus Kynan Sandles on the lesser-seen acoustic bass guitar. These guys are family and their connection on stage adds that little extra to their music and performances as they naturally use the audience and foot stomping as their percussion.
'Sensational' - TCR RADIO-
When all three sing together, they provide a ‘whistle wetting romp full of three part harmonies’. With a mixture of upbeat folk music, some original pirate material and some good old fashioned sea shanties, there’s something for everyone; they are bound to warm your cockles!
Limited tickets available - only £4.95 online - order now

A traditional boat festival, running alongside the Golowan Festival. Owners and crews of traditional style boats are invited to come and enjoy the atmosphere and pageantry of the Golowan festival from this scenic harbour arena, situated in the heart of historic Penzance
There will be sailing opportunities, with a race and a parade of sail for the energetic individuals who wish to explore the beautiful waters of Mounts Bay, and for those who wish to sit back, relax and soak up the atmosphere, most of the world will seem to pass by their harbour viewpoint at some time during the weekend. The event can be incorporated as a stopping-off point for those vessels heading for the other festivals.
There will be stalls, maritime craft displays, exhibitions and opportunities to meet and mingle with other crews at a crew supper. Penzance is home to a variety of heritage and traditional boats (luggers, gaffers, pilot gigs, ketches, crabbers and toshers), the owners of which, look forward to welcoming friends old and new, to historic maritime Penzance.
