
Porthallack Beach is a small, quiet, sand and pebble beach on the northern bank of the Helford River near Toll Point.
A small stream crosses the beach.
Swimming is possible on an incoming tide but avoid swimming when the tide is changing. Snorkelling can also be enjoyed here.
Porthallack is popular with anglers
Porthallack Beach is part of the Trerose Estate. There is a small, private boathouse and slipway here.
There is no lifeguard service and no safety equipment.
It has no facilities.
Porthallack beach is dog friendly with dogs allowed all year round.
The coast path passes the beach on its way towards Helford Passage to the west and Maenporth and Falmouth to the southeast.
To access the beach will involve a walk from either Mawnan Smith or Mawnan Church unless you are walking the coast path.
If you have parked near Mawnan Church, take the footpath that passes to the right of the church yard and follow it out through the woodland and fields onto Toll Point then walk down to the waterside. The walk is about a half mile (km)
If you have parked in Mawnan Smith the walk is around 1 mile (km) to the southwest.
Park at the Carwinion Playing Fields car park and take the public footpath which runs beside Carwinion Gardens to reach the coast path at Porth Saxon. Then walk east/left along the coast path towards the estuary and the open sea until you reach Porthallack beach near the river mouth.
