St Levan is a parish and village with beautiful beaches, ancient holy wells and fascinating folklore
The parish church is dedicated to St Levan.
In the churchyard is a large granite rock split into two pieces. Legend states that when a donkey with panniers astride can pass through the gap between the stones then this will signify the end of the world.

The holy well stands in a picturesque setting at the end of the valley overlooking Porth Chapel beach.
Porthcurno beach with its pale fine granite sand which gives the sea its stunning blue colour is popular with visitors and residents alike.
Porthgwarra is famous for its unusual migrant birds.
Of archaeological interest is Treryn Dinas, the magnificent headland which has upon it a cliff castle dating from the Iron Age, some 2500 years old.
The Logan Rock, a famous former rocking stone (from the Cornish dialect 'loggan' to rock to and fro) stands on Treryn Dinas. A mischevious prank set this 66 tonne boulder rolling down the cliff in 1824 when Lieutenant Hugh Goldsmith of the Royal Navy decided to prove that it was possible to dislodge the logging rock from its position. The prank was not appreciated and Goldsmith was ordered to replace it in its original position. While it was indeed an amazing feat of engineering to replace the huge rock, unfortunately, it no longer rocks with the same ease as it did prior to its fall.
