Trethevy Quoit is a Penwith chamber tomb in St Cleer parish between eastern Bodmin Moor and the south east Cornwall coastal area.
The tomb dates from the Neolithic period some 5500 years ago.
Six upright stones and the huge capstone form the massive structure.
The capstone alone is over 4 metres in length (Over 13 feet)
Tombs such as this would have been covered by a mound of earth and stones which would have enclosed them but over the centuries this has been eroded to leave on display the magnificent monument which we see today.
