Wheal Bahavella (also known as Wheal Bravella) was a small copper mine working in St Ives.
It worked the eastern part of the Bahavella lode. This is located south of the Standard lode belonging to St Ives Consols and runs parallel to it.
Several shafts, just south of Wheal Trenwith, were used to access the lode and an adit was driven from Porthminster Beach, in the area just south of Pedn Olva Point. The shafts are now
built over.
The lode contained copper and some uranium ores in the killas of the Wheal Bahavella sett and further on in the granite tin ores were discovered which were worked by Wheal Applin.
The following minerals were identified at Wheal Bahavella:
Chalcopyrite
Pyrite
Uraninite
var: Pitchblende
