Advent, in Cornish, Sen Adhwynn or Pluwadwyn, is a small parish on Cornwall's Bodmin Moor.
It has a church dedicated to St Adwena constucted in the Early English and Perpendicular styles with a three stage, unbuttressed tower with 8 pinnacles.
The doorway of the South entrance has Catacleuse stone mouldings.
Parts of the church date back to the 13th Century.
In the vicinity of the church on a public right of way is a fine example of a round-headed wayside cross.
Close by are rare archaeological remains - a Bronze Age triple round barrow believed to date from pre 1000 BC.
Within the parish are the hamlets of Highertown, Pencarrow, Tresinney and Watergate.
There are three walking trails running through Advent parish - Watermill Walk, Camelford Way and the Moorland Walk.
