Baker's Pit Nature Reserve is an area of heathland, wet willow woodland and scrub with some areas of pasture that are managed by local farmers.
In 2000 the reserve was gifted to the Cornwall Wildlife Trust by Imerys, the china clay company who owned this old china clay works.
There are some remains of the china clay works including an engine house and settling tanks. China clay was being extracted here as early as 1758.
Birdlife includes: whitethroat (summer visitor), merlin, hen harrier and peregrine.
Flora includes: western gorse
Visit at any time of year.
Small parking area for about 3 cars.
Baker's Pit Nature Reserve is dog friendly.
