King Doniert's Stone is an inscribed granite memorial to a Cornish king who lived in the 9th century
Located in St Cleer parish within a small enclosure at the roadside between Redgate and Darite in the Common Moor area of eastern Bodmin Moor, one of the memorial stones bears the inscription 'Doniert Rogavit Pro Anima' translated as 'Doniert ordered this for the benefit of his soul'.
Doniert is believed to be the Cornish King Dunjarth who drowned in the last quarter of the 9th century.
Both stones are ornamented with finely carved interlacing patterns.
