Liskeard, is an ancient market town at the top of the River Looe valley in south east Cornwall.
The town went through a period of economic prosperity during the boom of tin-mining.

Liskeard is well connected to Plymouth and the rest of Cornwall. Liskeard train station is on the main line between Penzance and London and the Looe branch line makes the river and port towns of East and West Looe easily accessible. The A38 provides rapid access to the town.
From Liskeard it is very easy to reach the coves and resorts of the south Cornish coast and the vast rugged expanse of Bodmin Moor.
