Gwithian Beach is a very popular family beach. It has a huge expanse of sand which at low tide extends to Godrevy and in the other direction all the way to Hayle. It also has rock pools. The World Land Speedsailing Championships are often held here and it is also a popular location for kitesurfing and windsurfing.
Gwithian Towans sand dunes border the beach and provide excellent opportunities for walking and exploring. Car parking is available and there are good local facilities including a cafe, beach shop and toilets. Dogs are not allowed on Gwithian beach from 1st July to 31st August between 10am and 6pm but it is dog friendly outside of these hours and from 1st September to 30th June when dogs are allowed. RNLI Lifeguards are on duty at Gwithian beach at Easter and then from mid May to around the 20th September.
