The Roseland is made up of the seven parishes of Ruan, Veryan, Cuby, Philleigh, St Just in Roseland, St Gerrans and St Anthony in Roseland.
Within these parishes are beautiful locations such as Portscatho, St Mawes, Turnaware Point, Portloe, Ruan Lanihorne, Tregony, Tolverne, St Anthony Head and many more hamlets and villages.
The names derives from the Cornish word 'ros' meaning a promontory and the English word 'land' which has been added to its name in more recent times.
Its coastal scenery with quiet secluded coves, golden sandy beaches and rocky headlands, its many delightful winding creeks, charming fishing villages and idyllic hamlets, define The Roseland Peninsula and have earned it the designation of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
Pendower Beach, Kiberick Cove, the beaches of Portholland, Carne Beach, Porth Bean and Porthcurnick Beach are just a few of the delights to be found on The Roseland.
Tregony is the gateway to the Roseland by road or you can travel to it by ferry as a pedestrian from Falmouth or by a vehicle ferry from Trelissick near Truro.
