Carne Beach is a south facing sandy beach sheltered by Nare Head on the Roseland Peninsula
The beach is popular with families. Under certain conditions, mostly in autumn and winter, it can also be good for novice surfers. Bodyboarding and Kitesurfing are popular here. There is a slipway onto the beach which allows easy access for kayaking and dinghy sailing. There are also some good snorkelling areas.
Carne Beach is the eastern part of a huge expanse of sandy beach on Gerrans Bay. At low water it joins with Pendower Beach.

No lifeguard service.
There are toilets in the car park.
Carne Beach is dog friendly with dogs allowed all year round as long as they are on a lead.
There is a hotel here and other facilities can be found at Portscatho, Gerrans, Veryan and St Mawes.

Location:
From the A390 turn onto the A3078 for St Mawes. Continue on the A3078 past Tregony and Ruan High Lanes and then turn left for Veryan. At Veryan turn right following the road to Pendower. Follow this road for about 2 miles. Follow the signpost for Carne Beach.
