Porthleven Beaches |
Porthleven beach is long and sandy, extending for three miles from just beyond the harbour wall, southeastwards towards Loe Bar.At low tide it is possible to walk to Loe Bar along the beach. Facilities include car parking, toilets, shops and cafes in the town. At low water and during rough weather, the beach is not good for swimming. RNLI Lifeguards are on duty at Porthleven beach from early July to early September. For more information about the lifeguard service - RNLI Area support centre Tel: 01872 572413 or email lifeguards@rnli.org.uk Porthleven beach has a dog friendly designated area on its eastern side with dogs allowed all year round. Seasonal dog ban on the area of Porthleven beach to the west from the Harbour Wall to Blue Buoy. The dog ban applies from 1st July to 31st August from 10am to 6pm. Outside these hours and from 1st September to 30th June the west part of the beach is dog friendly.
