Causeway from Marazion to St Michael's Mount
Marazion Beaches |
|
Marazion has a fine beach of golden sand and access to St Michaels's Mount via a cobbled stone causeway. See St Michael's Mount for more detailed information about the island and its history. The sandy beach has views across Mounts Bay, stretching from the Lizard Peninsula and across towards Land's End.
RNLI Lifeguards are on duty at Marazion beach from early July to the beginning of September. For more information about the lifeguard service - RNLI Area support centre Tel: 01736 753567 or email lifeguards@rnli.org.uk Facilities include car parks near the beach, toilets and local cafes and shops. The beach is popular with families and good for beginner surfers as it is quite sheltered. The wind is usually from the south west which makes it an onshore breeze. Surfing at Marazion has its moments for more experienced surfers when there is a large southerly swell and winds from the north. Marazion beach has a dog ban from 1st July to 31st August between 10am and 6pm and is dog friendly outside of these hours and between 1st September and 30th June when dogs are allowed.
