Porthmeor is St Ives surfing beach, a large, sheltered sandy beach, popular with families and surfers. Blue Flag award.
Porthmeor has all the facilities you need with the town of St Ives directly behind the beach. St Ives has several large car parks but these can get very busy so you may wish to park outside the town and travel in by train.
Porthmeor Beach is very good for surfing and bodyboarding with Atlantic waves breaking on the beach.

Porthgwidden Beach
Porthgwidden Beach is a favourite with families. Lying just to the east of the Island, this beach of fine golden sand is the smallest of St Ives main beaches. It is easy to walk between Porthgwidden and Porthmeor beaches by walking over the Island.
Porthgwidden beach has a dog ban from 1st July to 31st August between 10am and 6pm and is dog friendly outside these hours and from 1st September to 30th June.
Porthminster Beach
A large sandy beach of fine golden sand, ideal for families. Porthminster is sheltered between Porthminster Point and Pedn Olva. This is the closest beach to St Ives train and bus stations so it can get quite crowded during the summer.

St Ives Harbour Beach or Town Beach
A small beach of golden sand in the heart of St Ives, sheltered by the harbour wall, Smeaton's Pier. Due to its easy access it can become quite busy in the summer.
All the facilities you need are very closeby including toilets, shops and cafes.
St Ives Harbour beach has a dog ban from 1st July to 31st August between 10am and 6pm and is dog friendly outside these hours and from 1st September to 30th June.
A small, sheltered, sandy beach located between the harbour and Porthgwidden beach. The remains of Wheal Dream tin mine are closeby. Bamaluz can often be quiet as it is not as well known as St Ives' other beaches.
Facilities are all nearby in St Ives town centre.
There is no lifeguard service.
Bamaluz beach is dog friendly with dogs allowed on the beach all year round.
During certain weather conditions, Bamaluz can be excellent for surfing. The Breakwater works best with a large northerly swell.

Lambeth Walk Beach
A small beach located between Harbour Beach and Porthminster Beach. There is no lifeguard service.
Lambeth Walk beach is dog friendly with dogs allowed on the beach all year round.
Clodgy Point Beach
A walk along the coastal footpath onto the Land' End peninsula, towards the west, will bring you to this stony beach.

Hor Point Beach
A walk along the coast from St Ives, past Clodgy Point and towards the Land's End brings you to this small stony beach.
